Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride fans: Check out T-shirts, passholder-only Vinylmation Fri, 13 Aug 2010 Mr. Toad's Wild Ride shirts are part of the 1971 Collection available at Magic Kingdom's Emporium and Fantasy Faire stores. (wdwmagic.com photos)
Despite the closing of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride at Walt Disney World more than a decade ago, devoted fans of the attraction remain. And the folks at Disney recognize that.
Most recently, commenters on several Disney message boards have pointed out that two T-shirts (one for men and one for women) honoring Mr. Toad are available in the Magic Kingdom as part of the retro-looking 1971 Collection. A cast member told me, however, that the shirts are not new.
They have been sold at the Emporium for about two years and at Fantasy Faire (next to Mickey’s PhilharMagic) for a year. She couldn’t say how long they would be available.

An astute commenter on a MiceChat.com forum points out that Mr. Toad made his way into the gathering of Disney characters depicted on the “What Will You Celebrate?” merchandise. I purchased that backpack for my son for the upcoming school year, so I had to take a look. Sure enough, Mr. Toad is at the front of the pack.

And now, Disney World is offering a passholder-exclusive Vinylmation 3-inch figure of Mr. Toad. Passholders can purchase the figure beginning at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 29 at D Street at Downtown Disney. (Passholder merchandise discount can be applied.)
Disney fans have long pointed out that Mr. Toad lives on in several spots in the Magic Kingdom. Inside the Winnie the Pooh ride (which replaced Mr Toad’s Wild Ride), there is a picture of Mr. Toad handing the deed to the building to Owl, and Mr. Toad is “buried” in the pet cemetery outside the Haunted Mansion.
Can’t make it to Disney World anytime soon but want your Mr. Toad fix? Try the Walt Disney Mail Order department at 407-363-6200. Also, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride still is in operation at Disneyland, so there may be merchandise there as well. Disneyland’s Mail Order department can be reached at 1-800-760-3566.
