The High School Musical 3 show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will end its run in October to make way for a broader music-based show, incorporating a variety of Disney Channel hits, including Camp Rock and Star Struck.
The High School Musical franchise will still be part of the new show.
The show, described as a “live, rock-concert style show,” hasn’t yet been named but will follow a format that is similar to the current (and long-named) High School Musical 3: Senior Year – Right Here! Right Now!
The new show is scheduled to debut Oct. 22 at both the Studios, and in Anaheim at Disney’s California Adventure.
The final HSM3: SY — RH! RN! will play at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Oct. 2.
The announcement from Disney emphasized that the Wildcats of High School Musical would not be forgotten: “Rest assured, the Wildcats will be back in a new way on October 22,” it said.
